Until recently, poor private sector awareness of the advantages offered by leasing mechanisms has been the primary factor limiting the development of the sector. However, the demand for leasing services even in the regions is significantly outgrowing capabilities of the market participants. The Russian government proclaimed a very challenging strategic task of doubling the country's GDP by the year of 2010. It will be impossible to achieve this goal without the modernization of production assets at industrial companies.
